Salient is an excellent design with a fresh approach for the ever-changing Web. Integrated with Gantry 5, it is infinitely customizable, incredibly powerful, and remarkably simple.
DownloadThis last year has been another successful year and much was achieved.
We finished the work on the river track on the Cambridge side of the river thanks in great part to the Corrections Department. The year September 2004 to September 2005 we have had 70 teams working. On some Saturdays we have had up to 3 teams. Each of these teams has required a Tree Trust volunteer to be present we have organised the work and materials. The average size of a team is 8, at 7 hours work for each team that is almost 4000 hours of work they have done for us. We are particularly thankful to them.
Well another A.G.M has come and gone without many changes to personal.
Trustees are; Ian Scott, Brian Mayo, Mike Short, and Greg Liddy.
Our Management committee stays the same with the exception of our Treasurer.
Ross Morgan has retired and Greg Liddy has taken on this roll
We thank Ross for his long service to the Tree Trust.
Annual General Meeting time again. All the Information is on the back page
The Silver Poplar Track and Settlers Track ARE BOTH OPEN NOW.
The reconstructed Track from Bath Street to the High Level Bridge or down the new stairway and over the Bridge under the Bridge to either the boat ramp or the skate bowl stairway is completed now for use.
It has taken longer than we thought but if you walk it you will notice it is of sound construction and next year we will complete the planting of the banks that have been disrupted by the earth works needed to make this a very usable track.
All the stairways had been made by official contractors for safety reasons.
We saw an article about sowing native seed on difficult sites using mud balls and we thought we would give it a go. Anyone interested in helping us play mud balls? We have the seed ready to go.
Much progress has been made on the river track. We have at last finished the difficult section between the two sets of stairs on the lower riverbank track.
The contractors hired by the council have started to repair the stairs. With help from many sources we are hoping that the contractor will be able to do the second difficult section and make it easy to walk, by building a bridge structure to cover wash out areas.
We hope Christmas was great and the New Year will be kind to you all
What does this year hold for us?
How are the trees that were planted last year?
What more can we do to the walking tracks to improve them?
Are the tracks being used?
Are there any areas you feel we should work on?
Lake Te Ko Utu and its environs; your feelings on this area please.
AGM:
The A.G.M was held on October 21st and about 20 people attended.
Chairman Brian Mayo gave a run down on the achievements for the past year.
Each year seems to get better.
The Tree Trust may not have a lot of active members but when the need arises we get lots of help from lots of different sources. The results are all around Cambridge for all to see and use and enjoy.
You may walk or drive past many of the areas that we have been working on for years without even knowing what has been going on. The native bush is slowly replacing the scrub and gorse and blackberry on many of the riverbanks and creek edges.
